Eco-Friendly Cufflinks For Green Grooms

Lately I have weddings on the brain and that is because I am planning my own eco-friendly wedding that is happening this summer on August, 21, 2010! I wanted something really special and eco-friendly to complete the outfits of the groom and the groomsmen, so before Christmas I spent a few hours in the studio coming up with just that.

I sourced out a vintage coin shop and browsed catalogues of coins to come up with Eco-Friendly Silver Dime Cufflinks for the men in my bridal party. These cufflinks were given as Christmas gifts, and boy did they go over well! All the guys were impressed and can't wait to sport their one-of-a-kind silver cufflinks.

I wanted something a little bit different for each guy so I chose dimes from a variety of dates. I also varied whether I used the "heads" side or the "tails" side so they each turned out quite unique. I did my research and found out that Canadian dimes were only composed of sterling silver up until 1966, so all the dimes I chose predate that time. This worked out well because I wanted to give my father and father-in-law dimes for their birth years, which were 1953 and 1956 respectively.

The rest of the cufflinks featured kings and the maple boughs, which were the decoration on the "tails" side of the dime up until 1935. I have now listed these Eco-Friendly Silver Dime Cufflinks at the ecocessories™ online store so the men in your wedding can sport and eco-friendly accessory to their outfits too!

I'd love to know what you think of the cufflinks. Comment below.
