A Closer Look at ecocessories

I apologize it's been a couple weeks since I have given you a fresh post to look at! During that time I have been busy preparing for my Ontario trip - and after the amazing last couple days I've had, I realize it was worth every second. Thank you to all my Ontario friends and supporters - people have had a really positive response to ecocessories and it is only inspiring me to work even harder at making it a success. That's why I thought I'd give you a closer look at the creating process...

People are always curious about how and where I create my jewelry, so I thought the best idea would be to show you! Here is a video of me designing a pair of earrings. The video is about 3 minutes long and you get to rock out to "Golden" by Jill Scott while you watch!

The great thing about making jewelry is that it is the type of art that can be created anywhere. That is especially meaningful to me because I am inspired by so many things in this world (especially experiencing the best of both my worlds in Ontario and B.C.) and I try to pour that beauty and inspiration into each piece of jewelry I make.

I have set up my workshop at our home in North Vancouver. I have a bright office in our garden level suite on Keith Road. The house has a lot of history from the different pieces of furniture and installations our landlord has made - by keeping reusing and recycling in mind, he has recovered many parts of this house from different constructions sites he has worked on.

I work my best with an organized area where I can really focus on the colours and composition of each piece of jewelry. I have both natural light and halogen spotlights in my workspace and my beads are sorted by colour and stored in small drawers on my desk.

Is there anything you are curious to ask about my work? Comment on this post and I'll be more than happy to respond to questions! You might even inspire my next post.

Don't forget! If you donate jewelry to me while I am here in Ontario you can enter for your chance to WIN a free necklace from ecocessories, valued at $60. This contest is ONLY open to customers who donate jewelry and I will be drawing at the end of my trip (that means good odds to win!!). Please stop by my parent's house anytime on, or before, Sunday, July 27th. E-mail me to set up a good time -
